We recently had a visit from ITV Anglia news, who came up to see the summerhouse at our Ipswich disability day care centre, that our support worker Kevin has built almost entirely from recycled materials! He is an incredible member of our team and the community, and it’s fantastic to see him get the recognition he deserves.
We gave ITV Anglia a very festive welcome, Santa suits and all, and our services users enjoyed getting to see themselves on tv!
Our customers transformed the summerhouse into a Christmas grotto, covering it with lights, tinsel and baubles, and we had a visit from Barber Xmas and Kevin Christmas who were handing out satsuma and chocolate bar treats. Customers had a great time getting to use the new summerhouse for the first time, and everyone waited patiently for their turn to see the festive duo.
Kevin’s outstanding contribution also made it to our local newspaper, which goes into more detail about the benefits that this new site addition will make to our support services and the learning disability care we provide to adults and young people. The full article can be found here.
