Genesis Orwell Mencap has been determined in  building a brand new skills-based workshop for The Green Bike Project to be based in. The new workshop will transform the quality of care that we can offer adults with disabilities whilst selling recycled second-hand bikes in Ipswich. This new facility will be especially built with the needs of service users in mind as it will be fully accessible to all disabilities. The Green Bike Project will be able to reach many more people with our services once the build is finished.

It has been wonderful to see the journey that the project has been on. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the SEH French Construction team the build has been progressing quickly. Genesis Orwell Mencap is delighted to see everyone’s hard work pay off, from Genesis’ fundraising team, Superstructures and KLH Architects, to SEH French Construction Company.

The bike repair Ipswich services and second hand bikes in Ipswich that we offer our community is just a small part of The Green Bike Project. Our main purpose is to improve the quality of life of adults with disabilities by helping develop skills in bike mechanics. We do this by offering recycled bikes Ipswich whilst also providing dignified care for complex needs. The bike repair Ipswich services that we offer our community is one part of the impact that we have as we also aim to encourage cycling as a more environmentally friendly form of transport.

If you would like to support The Green Bike Project skills-based workshop becoming a reality with donations and funding please email us at greenbike@orwellmencap.co.uk. We are close to finishing the build but need the support to complete the internal fitting, this includes the accessible equipment we are installing such as hand railings and a disabled toilet. This will all mean the bike repair Ipswich can get from The Green Bike Project will be from an inclusive and accessible space.
