This year Genesis celebrated St Patricks Day in true green fashion. The Irish celebration that now has been taken up by many countries is guaranteed to bring fun and cheer to all and it did just that for Genesis’ service users.

Whilst everyone was taking apart their second hand bikes in Ipswich and taking part in activities for disabled adults near me, there were adorned in the most glorious green colours.

Everyone came in wearing green to mark the occasion with exception of some extremely inventive service users who came in fancy dress as leprechauns. It was lovely to see people in our Genesis community make that extra effort and come in fancy dress.

The day was filled like every day at Genesis with, exciting activities for disabled adults near me, but this time there was a twist. Every activity was Irish themed, in karaoke only songs sung by Irish artists were played. With everyone that had decided to do baking that day they made cupcakes with green icing and sprinkles!

The entirety of Genesis was adorned with St Patrick’s Day décor from the Irish themed confetti to the amazing artwork that was created in Genesis’ own art room. As you walked into Genesis you found yourself transported to a world of green and gold. This is one of the many themed days that take place during the year at Genesis which creates the sense of community that we all treasure. Genesis Orwell Mencap is not just a place where activities for disabled adults near me access or where the public can get their second hand bikes in Ipswich. It is a place that fosters togetherness. The rest of this year will be full of exciting celebrations that everyone here is looking forward to.
