Our three new personal care suites are finished and fully operational at our Ipswich disability day care centre! We now have the Bluebell, Rose and Violet rooms, the newest additions to the extensive list of facility improvements that are happening at Genesis.
Our old PC room was cramped, dull and the sense of privacy that the screens provided in between PC beds was limited.
The renovation project, which started in September, saw our old unused pottery room space converted into our three, much brighter PC suites that provide more dignity and privacy than the previous space. These works are just one of the ways we are raising the standards of care for adults with disabilities.
Thanks to grant funding from the Suffolk Community Foundation, we also have a new overhead hoist, funded through the Fonnereau Road Health Foundation Fund, and a new PC bed, funded through the Suffolk Giving Fund.
This means there will be a reduced waiting time for personal care and less manual handing of equipment for our support workers, enabling us to provide a more dignified service to our customers.
